I was very pleased to exhibit twenty of my icon-inspired paintings of the past five years at the Art Gallery at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Cape Elizabeth, ME this past fall.  (It’s a lovely space, and more artists should take advantage of it.)  I thoroughly enjoyed giving a talk about the work and answering the thoughtful questions of those who attended.  As the saying goes, there’s plenty more where that came from, and I will be looking for other venues to show this work.

Recent work in progress is my response to the decorative traditions I’ve seen during our recent travels to Istanbul, Portugal, and Romania.  Now that I have a small etching press at my disposal, I’m returning to monotypes, mixing hand- and press printing, using stencils, and developing prints with multiple layers. Happily I’ve found a line of oil-based printing inks by Cranfield that wash up easily with soap and water. So much to play with and think about. . .
